The short version: everything you do against the computer — every difficulty level, the Analysis Board and the 3D board — runs on your device and is never uploaded. Online play is optional and needs an account you create in the app; what you enter there is stored on our game server and used only to run online games, ratings and tournaments. Ads in the free mobile version come from Google AdMob, and purchases are handled by your app store. We never sell your data.
This policy applies to the Dama Ta! Filipino checkers app published by MMC Solo Dev, on every platform it ships on:
It also covers the Dama Ta! game server that the online features talk to, which we operate ourselves.
Games against the AI, the Best Move hint, the Analysis Board, Game Review and the 3D board are computed entirely on your device by the built-in engine. No move, position, rating or result from offline play is sent to us, and the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
The app never asks for your location, contacts, photos, microphone or
camera. On Android it requests INTERNET and network-state
permissions (for online play, ads and purchases) and a Wi-Fi multicast
permission (only for finding opponents on your own local network — see
Local-network play below).
This data is saved locally so the app works between sessions. It stays on your device, is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data, and is not transmitted to us unless a row below says otherwise.
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| A display name you choose, and a random guest ID | The name labels your side of the board and is shown to opponents online. The guest ID lets the server reattach a dropped multiplayer connection, and at sign-up it is recorded as the device that created the account (one device, one account). |
| Match history, saved positions, exported game files, offline rating | So you can review and replay past games. Exported files go wherever you choose with your device's own file picker. |
| Settings — board and piece style, 3D options, theme, difficulty, sounds, language | To restore your preferences next launch. |
| Feature credits and ad counters | To track how many free uses of a feature remain before an optional ad. Stored encrypted. |
| Whether you purchased the Premium upgrade | To keep ads off and the premium tiers open. The purchase itself is verified by your app store, not stored by us in readable form. |
| Your online session token, if you signed in | So you stay signed in. Signing out deletes it; changing your password signs every device out. |
On Android the app reads the system ANDROID_ID value (on iOS
a Keychain identifier) and uses it as part of the encryption key for the local
data above. This ties that data to the device it was created on, so a copied
data folder simply fails to decrypt elsewhere. It is never stored in a
readable form and is not used for advertising or tracking.
Multiplayer, tournaments, online ratings and player profiles need an account, which you create inside the app. Offline play never requires one.
Your public profile shows your display name, your online rating and the trophies you have won. Opponents see your display name and rating during a game, and anyone browsing the public lobby or a tournament sees it in the lists. Finished online games — the players' display names, the moves, the result and the rating change — are kept on the server and can be opened and replayed by other players from game lists, profiles and tournament standings. Nothing you entered as optional sign-up information is ever shown to anyone.
While you play online, your moves and board state go to our server to run the game and to resolve disconnections, draws and results. Like any networked service the server processes your device's IP address to deliver responses; it also counts failed sign-in attempts per address, in memory only, to slow down password guessing. Our server sits behind Cloudflare, which terminates the secure connection and processes connection metadata under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not build profiles from IP addresses and do not keep access logs beyond ordinary operational troubleshooting.
Account data, online game records, tournament results and trophies are stored in our game server's database for as long as your account exists. Sign-in sessions expire on their own and are deleted when you sign out. Live match state and the reconnect association are held in memory only and discarded when the match ends.
There is no in-app delete button yet. To delete your account, email us from the address below with your username. We remove the account, its credentials and every optional detail you gave us within 30 days. Records of finished online games are kept so that your former opponents' histories stay intact, but they are no longer linked to your personal details.
You can also play someone on the same Wi-Fi without an account. The app uses local-network discovery (multicast) to find the other device and then talks to it directly. Those games never pass through our server, and nothing about them is sent to us.
The free mobile version shows ads supplied by Google AdMob: a banner on the game screen, and optional rewarded ads you can choose to watch to unlock a feature. Every rewarded ad is announced first and can be declined. The web version shows ads through Google AdSense.
To serve ads, Google may collect and process data including your advertising ID, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device information. That processing is Google's, governed by their policies, not ours — we never see it. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
The Windows version shows no ads at all. It is sold as a paid app, and the advertising code is only active on mobile and web.
Ads are limited to a PG content rating, because this is a general-audience board game.
Dama Ta! offers one optional, one-time Premium purchase that removes ads and unlocks unlimited feature credits. The transaction is handled entirely by Google Play or the Microsoft Store; your payment details go to them and never reach the app or the developer.
To confirm a Google Play purchase is genuine, the app sends the purchase token to our server, which checks it with Google Play; the token is used only for that check. On Android the app may also request a Play Integrity token from Google Play services and have our server verify it, to confirm the app is an unmodified copy on a genuine device. Neither token is stored.
Dama Ta! is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the optional date of birth at sign-up is not used to target anything. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
We do not sell your information. Data leaves our hands only as described on this page — to Google (ads, purchase verification, Play Integrity), to Cloudflare (as the network in front of our server), to the app store that handles your purchase, and to other players in the limited profile and game form described above — or where the law requires it.
You can ask us at any time what account data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Everything stored only on your device is yours to clear from the History screen or by uninstalling the app.
If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date at the top will change with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's store listing release notes.
